A: Yes – for permanent submerged applications like boat hulls or pond liners, apply to dry surfaces first, then submerge. It will never lose its seal.
Q: How long does it take to fully bond well?
A: It bonds instantly, but reaches maximum strength after 24 hours under pressure.
Q: Will it stick to painted wood?
A: Yes, as long as the paint is fully cured and clean. Test on a small spot first – some chalky paints may reduce adhesion.
Q: Can I remove it later?
A: Yes. Could use butyl roll to stick it off, or Warm it with a hairdryer and peel slowly. Most surfaces clean up with a little mineral spirits.
Q: What’s the difference between this and acrylic foam tape?
A: Butyl stays flexible forever and seals against water. Acrylic foam is harder and better for shear strength but can crack in cold weather.
